- The Street Times 2011: A Singaporean LifeA bi-weekly program that explores topics in hope to bridge the gap between the young and old and to understand the differences that shape our society today.
- In the season finale, we ask Singaporeans if Singapore is their ideal homeland and if not, what needs 'saving'? Like how Gotham City has 'Batman' and Smallville has 'Superman', what kind of kick-ass powers should our local superhero posses?
- How much is your support for "Made-in-Singapore" products?
- They say that technology evolves with time. It is no surprise that we almost 'can't live without' our mobile phones and social networking sites. Will technology be the rise or downfall of our society? The Street Times hear what Singaporeans have to say!
- Is traditional television threatened by the vast variety of content that we can easily find on the World Wide Web? Would you rather watch local television programs or cable television?
- The Street Times pays a visit to Cambridge Child Development Centre where Charmaine speaks to a class of immensely adorable six year olds! Let's see what the children of this generation think about love, money and other topics!
- Do you agree it's okay to be jealous but in moderation? Do you disagree that jealousy does any good to a relationship? Find out in the episode what some Singaporeans think about jealousy and how it affects any relationships.
- What are superstitions? Are you superstitious? How true are they?
- Some people say, being independent equates to the ability to stand on your own two feet, make your own decisions and live your own life.
At what age, should we be independent? What does it mean by being independence? Find out what Singaporeans have to say about the different types of independence and what they are willing to sacrifice for the freedom to do what they want. - Q1: Do you know how old is Singapore?
Q2. Do you know Hibiscus is NOT our national flower?
Q3. Would you stay or flee, if there were a crisis in Singapore?
On August 9th, the day we celebrate our independence since 1965, let us make sure we know how to recite the pledge... - QUESTION: What makes us uniquely Singapore?
ANSWER: The clean and green environment, the best varieties in food and shopping choices or our very own Singlish?
Beyond our virtues, some of our very own residents (locals and foreigners alike) point out some things that we are really good at, and at the same time, need to be changed. Watch on for some honest confessions!
Special thanks to Dr. Adrian Wang of DR ADRIAN WANG PSYCHIATRIC AND COUNSELLING CARE - www.wangpsych.com - How different are the interpretations of the word Love in our multi-cultural society? How much do we know about LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender)?
In a 2007 article by AFP, Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs said that Singapore by and large remains as a conservative society. Today, we ask Singaporeans what is their take on the definition of Love, the understanding of LGBTs and find out if our society is any different from four years ago. - How far will you go to spend $200 on a shirt? Why do people roll up their pants?
In this episode, we find out how far young Singaporeans will go to make a fashion statement. Watch how our 35-year-old mum host Charmaine attempts to undress their rationale behind their choices. WIll the older generation understand too? - In our first installment, we chew over the use of acronyms in our daily conversations. Charmaine (at 16 years old), in her customized hot pink uniform, finds out what the two generations think of improving communication with one another.
Are the young ones communicating at such rapid pace comprehension? Keep your eyes peeled as some of the uncles and aunties actually do get it!
